Our grandfather Alfred Edwin Ross originally purchased Lawns Farm in the 1940's and we are now in the third generation of farmers. With a passion for quality meats and traditional cuts it was time we stopped being greedy and shared what we have come to enjoy on a daily basis with everyone else who may care to appreciate quality food.
Lawns Farm is just under 200 acres of mainly dairy farming situated between Rotherham and Sheffield. We are a family farm with with approximately 90 cows in milk although our experimental nature has seen us breed Aberdeen Angus, Hereford and Belted Galloway cows. A poultry hobby grew into a sizeable collection of chicken and duck varieties and then into commercial free range turkey and goose supply for the Christmas period. Today we have a growing herd of pigs focusing on traditional old English breeds such as the British Lop and the Gloucestershire Old Spots.

David Penk started work as a 16 year old YTS apprentice with a local insurance broker. Over the next 10 years he learned his trade and became assistant manager and then managing director. In 1989 an opportunity arose for David and his wife, Jenny, to set up their own insurance brokerage. An office was acquired at 81 Chatsworth Road and later, in 2001, due to continued growth, the business was relocated to 49-53 Chatsworth Road where the business continues to operate.
In August 2020 Jenny Penk chose to retire from the business after enjoying almost 30 years with the company as a co-owner and operations manager. She will be sadly missed.
The companies office manager, Nikki Thornton, who herself has been with the company since 2002, will continue to push forward the company with the skill sets she has learned from Jenny over the years. Under the direction of David, Nikki is supported by her deputy manager, Jason Deville, and the companies knowledgeable team to provide expert advice and quality insurance products and services.

In total TRC offers the widest range of Level 3 courses in the local area, offering everything from the Sciences, Maths and English, to Criminology, Law and Philosophy.
We are pleased to link with Rotherham Titans, through the Titans Community Foundation, to offer a Rugby Academy programme alongside a student’s academic studies.
We are confident we will have the right courses for you and we will support you in aiming as high as possible.
The Titans Community Foundation (TCF) is a Registered Charity (No: 1112722) working with Rotherham Titans RUFC to promote rugby, health and fitness and works to support young people within the community.
The TCF would like to thank the companies and agencies who have sponsored the work in schools and the community since the re-launch of the programmes in 2019.
